Fresh water tortoises are highly affected by trafficking, due to being relatively easy to catch, transport and sell. However, with their natural habitat being increasingly polluted their wild populations are falling. Conservation Park houses several species of fresh water tortoises, including the Colombian Slider or hicotea, endemic to Colombia.
